A practical example
Quality starts at 100%. Compare the original and result, then lower the quality or set a smaller maximum long edge if you need a lighter file. A 100% setting is not a guarantee of lossless output.
Limits and things to know
Compression uses lossy JPG or WebP encoding, so fine detail can change. The quality percentage is an encoder setting, not a promised size reduction. Already-optimised images may stay the same size or grow. If the same-format result is no smaller, the original is kept unchanged, including its original dimensions. A different-format result is offered even when larger, with a clear size comparison. Re-encoding may change colours and metadata. Review before sharing.
Input limits: 10 MB per file, 40 MB per batch, 12 megapixels per image, and 8,192 pixels per side. Output limits: 20 MB per image and 60 MB per batch. Smaller batches are better for low-memory phones. Keep your original files; this tool does not overwrite them.
FAQ
Can I compress to an exact number of KB?
This version lets you adjust quality and dimensions, rather than guaranteeing an exact file size. Review the measured result and adjust the settings if needed.
What happens to a transparent PNG?
WebP can preserve transparency. JPG replaces transparent areas with white. PNG input is supported, but the compressed output is JPG or WebP.
Are my files uploaded or saved by AcadCrate?
No. These tools read and process images in this browser. Inputs and results stay in the page’s memory until you clear them, leave, or close the tab; downloads are saved by your browser. They are not saved to an AcadCrate account or sent to an image service. Website analytics are separate; see the Privacy Policy.
