How it works
Enter a label and minimum score for each grade. The calculator orders valid boundaries from highest to lowest and selects the highest minimum that your score meets.
Academic calculator
Define the grade boundaries used by your institution, then match a percentage or score to the correct label.
Use your grading scale
Edit the example boundaries or build your own. No universal grading scale is assumed.
Define your own grading scale and enter a score to find its grade.
The quick guide
A boundary describes the minimum score at which a grade begins.
Enter a label and minimum score for each grade. The calculator orders valid boundaries from highest to lowest and selects the highest minimum that your score meets.
With A at 80 and B at 70, a score of 76 matches B because it reaches 70 but not 80.
Institution-neutral by design
Institutions may use letters, numbers, plus/minus grades, pass bands, or other rules. The example is editable and illustrative only. Check your syllabus, transcript guidance, or official policy before relying on the result.
Blank labels, invalid scores, duplicate minimums, and boundaries that are not strictly ordered are rejected. Duplicate minimums would make two grades claim the same starting point.
Yes. Use the example as a starting point, then change labels and minimum scores to match your own institution.
Enter the scale’s values if they can be represented as a 0–100 score. If your system uses a table or rules beyond minimum boundaries, use its official method instead.
