Attendance Calculator

See your current attendance at a glance and make a simple plan for reaching or protecting your target percentage.

Plan with confidence

Work out your attendance

Enter whole class counts and a desired percentage. The result updates with a clear next step you can use for planning.

Class counts must be non-negative whole numbers, and total classes must be greater than zero.

Choose a target from 0% to 100%.

The quick guide

Understand the number

A little context makes it easier to use your attendance result wisely.

What is an attendance calculator?

An attendance calculator turns the classes you have attended and the classes held so far into a percentage. It can also estimate the next practical step for a target, such as attending a run of classes or seeing how many absences your current margin allows.

How attendance percentage is calculated

Your current percentage compares attended classes with total classes held. Because each new class changes both the numerator and denominator, a future plan should use the updated total rather than treating the percentage as a fixed score.

Formula

Current attendance

(classes attended ÷ total classes) × 100

For example, attending 42 of 50 classes gives (42 ÷ 50) × 100 = 84%.

Example

Planning for a target

If you have attended 42 of 50 classes and want 90%, attending the next 30 classes brings you to 72 of 80, which is exactly 90%.

Why attendance matters

Regular attendance keeps you connected to explanations, practice, feedback, and the rhythm of a course. Use the result as a planning aid alongside your institution’s attendance policy, including any rules about excused absences or minimum requirements.

FAQ

Can I enter a decimal number of classes?

No. Classes are counted as whole units, so fractional class counts are rejected. Your target percentage may include decimals.

Why can’t a lower attendance reach exactly 100%?

Every future class you attend adds one attended class and one total class. That can move the percentage closer to 100%, but it cannot equal 100% in a finite number of classes unless you are already perfect.

Does this replace my school’s official record?

No. This is a planning estimate based on the numbers you enter. Use your school or institution’s record for official attendance decisions.
